Autumn Equinox. Rituals, Self Care, Crystals & Top Tips

I love the autumn !

As we move into the Autumn Equinox, where day and night are of equal length … the seasons change, and we officially head into Autumn (Sunday 23rd 02.54 am UK time).
 
The energy of the Autumn Equinox is all about slowing down, ‘balance’, ‘inner reflection’, and 'gratitude'.

As we welcome in this new season, make sure to pause for a moment, and TAKE TIME FOR YOU.  

It's a time of harvest, and the perfect time check in with yourself, and take time to reflect back over the last few months.  

What 'seeds' or ideas that you planted germinated, and grew well, and what what didn't? What can you learn from this, and what new seeds will you plant in the future?

The energies around the Equinox are powerful.  They can be 'felt' in the days leading up to, and for a few days after, so if you’re been feeling energetically  ‘out of kilter’ you’re not going crazy.  

​You might feel more tired than usual, and if you are, it's perfectly normal.  Best advice is to listen to your body, and go with the flow, rather than try to fight it.
 
A few ideas from me to mark the Autumn Equinox:-

• PRESS THE PAUSE BUTTON on life.  Take some time for yourself today or the next few days.  Even if it’s just for 15 minutes.  Check in with yourself and see how you feel.  See what comes up emotionally and physically, and take time to acknowledge and honour that.  If you’re tired then REST.  Give yourself permission.  The world won’t implode if you stop for a while, and as they say ‘you cannot pour from an empty cup’.

 

• REST - Have an early night, and get extra rest, and DON’T feel guilty about it.  Your loved ones will thank you for it.

 

• HYDRATE - Drink plenty of water, it’s helps your body cope with the shifting Equinox energies.

 

• SELF CARE - Do something lovely for yourself.  Curl up with a good book, book a massage, or whatever it is you need, to give yourself a proper treat. 

 

• RITUAL - Try an Epsom or Himalyan salt bath, light some candles and make a little ritual of it.  Salt baths are fantastic for energetic cleansing apart from being blissfully relaxing.  My energy always feels amazing the next day !

 

• JOURNAL  -  Take some time to reflect on the last few months. Write down how you feel, and notice what what comes up for you. Even better see if you can take time out to meditate.  Even if it’s for 10 minutes.  It’s an important time for REFLECTION, and RELEASING all that doesn’t serve with love, to make way for the new.

 

• GRATITUDE – Take some time out to reflect on what you’re grateful for in life.  No matter how small it might be.  Gratitude TOTALLY shifts your energy away from negativity and gets you back into your heart space, and everything starts to feel better :)

 

• CRYSTALS – Take time out to connect with crystal energy if you can.  Crystals I love to work with at this time, are primarily anything GROUNDING, BALANCING, and ENERGISING, especially when I’m feeling tired. 

 
Grounding & Balancing crystals I love are: Black Tourmaline, Hematite,  Shungite,   Botswana Agate (or any agates), Picture Jasper, Smoky Quartz and Tiger Eye.
 
Energizing crystals – when I’m feeling shattered are Carnelian, Pyrite, Sunstone and ‘master healer’ Clear Quartz and fabulous Citrine, to help lift my spirits and energise me.  Perfect for when the days get colder and the evenings draw in, and there's no 'sunlight' to boost your energy levels.
 
On a personal level, I also particularly adore Garnet, which for me, brings a deeply comforting, nurturing, heart centred & grounded energy. 
 
Take note of what crystals YOU are drawn to in your own collection, or in my handmade 'Crystal Energy Jewellery' SHOP,  There’s ALWAYS a reason, and it’s always what you need, so trust your body’s wisdom.

Take a few minutes to energetically connect, or tune in to your own crystals at home, (or notice what you're drawn to in my shop).  Hold your crystals, wear them, and have them close to you to help balance and align your energy, or pop them under your pillow at night.
